Sprint is doing a bit of spring cleaning, and that means the Picture Mail service is shutting down.
It’s beginning to look like April 30 will be a popular day for mobile companies to shut down services. Yesterday HTC announced that it was shutting down HTCSense.com on that day, and now Sprint is joining the party. As the screenshot above the Picture Mail site tells you, you have until April 30 to retrieve any images you may have stored on the service.
With the dozens of options out there for sharing images these days, this move makes a lot of sense for Sprint. It’s just one less thing for the company to have to maintain, and even as a Sprint customer, I never enjoyed using the service. It’s a good move for the carrier.
