Now that Epic Mickey 2 has been made official, Disney Interactive and Junction Point have released an official teaser trailer. Within the nearly minute long clip above, you’ll get a bit of the story, gameplay and presentation sported by this upcoming sequel. At the base of this post, you’ll find a gallery featuring the first batch of in-game screenshots.
For a lot of would-be fans, myself included, the toughest pill to swallow in the original Epic Mickey was the game’s camera system. At times, it worked just fine. But the bulk of most play-throughs consisted of regular camera-induced frustration.
Fortunately (hopefully), it seems the team at Junction Point heard those camera complaints and have taken steps to ensure that Epic Mickey 2: The Power of Two will feature a much stronger system. Here’s Warren Spector, studio co-founder, in regards to this sequels in-game perspective:
“We’ve had a team working on the camera from literally the day we finished the first game…They’ll be working on it until the day we ship the second game. (There have been) over 1,000 specific changes made to the camera. Our goal is that you will not have to touch the manual camera controls even once to play through the main story path of this game.”
Epic Mickey 2: The Power of Two is slated to drop on the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and Wii platforms this fall. We’ll have more as it comes.
