Apple Updates iTunes Trailers App to Support New iPad’s Retina Display

iTunes Movies trailers app

Apple’s own iOS applications were — as you’d expect — the first to get high-resolution artwork for the new iPad’s Retina display. But one of the apps that was left behind was iTunes Movie Trailers — a free download that “puts the newest and most exclusive movie previews in HD in your hands.”

Fortunately for you movie buffs, that Retina update came this week. iTunes Movie Trailer version 1.1 is now in the App Store and “designed for the spectacular Retina display on the all new iPad,” Apple’s release notes read. And we have to agree that it does look pretty incredible.

Not only is its user interface now incredibly crisp, but so are its movie trailers. In fact, if you don’t already use this app and you have the new iPad, we highly recommend you download it just to check out how terrific these clips look on your new tablet.

The app — which is also compatible with the iPhone and iPod touch — also includes high-resolution photos, behind-the-scenes featurettes, and a year-long release calendar that helps you plan those all-important theater trips. Furthermore, you can check out what’s on at your local theater and even purchase tickets from your iOS device.

What do you think of the Retina-ready iTunes Movie Trailers app on your new iPad?
