Acer has announced its new Iconia Tab A510 tablet this morning, which is the company’s second slate to feature NVIDIA’s quad-core Tegra 3 processor. It also comes with Ice Cream Sandwich pre-installed, and prices start at $449.99.
The A510 was one of the tablet’s Acer took to CES earlier this year, but the company kept quiet about a number of its specifications. Today, however, it has revealed all. In addition to that quad-core chip, the tablet sports a 10.1-inch display with a 1280×800 resolution, and 1GB of RAM.
It comes with 32GB of internal storage as standard, as well as a microSD card slot that allows you to increase that to 64GB. There’s also a 5-megapixel rear-facing camera capable of shooting HD video (we assume at 720p), and a 1-megapixel front-facing camera for video calls and conferences. To keep this baby alive, there’s a 9,800mAh battery, which, according to Acer, will give you up to 12 hours of video playback.
But one of its best features is the Ice Cream Sandwich operating system, which, you’ll be pleased to hear, comes pre-installed, meaning you won’t need to wait months for an update that you must then install yourself.
The Iconia Tab A510 costs $449.99 and pre-orders begin today in the U.S. and Canada. Unfortunately, however, Acer is yet to confirm its release date.
