Apple recently confirmed that the new iPad is the fastest selling iPad yet, but a new image suggests it may also be the hottest. According to an infrared image from Tweakers.net, which was snapped after running GLBenchmark for 10 minutes on both the new iPad and the iPad 2, the new iPad runs 10 degrees hotter than its predecessor. The site found that the iPad 2 was running at 82.9 degrees Fahrenheit after the benchmark was finished while the new iPad was running at 92.5 degrees fahrenheit. We don’t think this is anything to be worried about — electronics are made to run this hot and frequently do. But if you thought your new iPad felt a bit hotter than the old model, well, it appears you were correct.
