Epic Mickey 2 Bound for 3DS with 2D Classic Game?

According to a French Nintendo gaming mag, a special presentation for press will reveal Epic Mickey 2 next week. The rumor comes in the form of a Tweet, and the Tweet offers up an extra bit of information regarding this possibly forthcoming sequel.

Epic Mickey 2 might also launch for the Nintendo 3DS with the subtitle, “Power of Illusion.” The 3DS version was also said to launch alongside a 2D classic for the same system.

This is not the first time we’ve talked about rumors concerning an eventual Epic Mickey 2. One rumor pointed towards the Wii U as a possible destination for this follow-up, while another cited marketing materials as a source for a sequel.

As far as the 2D classic mentioned in the Tweet, we could definitely see that happen. Currently, Nintendo is offering a promo for Nintendo 3DS owners who pre-order the upcoming Kid Icarus: Uprising. Doing so will land you the original game for free on Nintendo’s portable.

Disney offered a few great, classic, 2D Mickey games for the NES and SNES back in the day. It’s because of that fact that we can easily see a similar offer being extended for this potential 3DS version of Epic Mickey 2 down the line. In fact, we were absolutely in love with Mickey Mousecapade way back when.

If this presentation does, in fact, happen next week, we’ll be sure to let you know about any news that comes from it.
