MacBook Pro sizes

Rumors are again circulating that Apple will soon be releasing slimmed down versions of the 13- and 15-inch models of the MacBook Pro.

According to a report from DigiTimes, production has already begun on trimmed down versions of the 13-inch and 15-inch versions of the MacBook Pro.  According to the supply chain partners that they spoke with, the smaller sizes of the Pro line will be losing their optical drives to allow for this new design, but they will still carry more power than the MacBook Air line.

The biggest puzzle here is that Intel has said the Ivy Bridge chips are delayed until June, so one has to wonder how these could be in production as they are supposed to use the next gen processor.  Perhaps they are staging them, or maybe they opted to stick with the Sandy Bridge processor, we just don’t know yet.
