Kevin RoseKevin Rose, founder of popular social news website Digg, has reportedly been hired by Google, according to AllThingsD. Rose has been heavily involved in an entrepreneurial venture called milk, which focused on creating mobile applications. Milk’s one and only project, Oink, was just shut down yesterday. Google is apparently not acquiring – or “acqhiring” – Milk, though some folks from the project have been hired on by the search giant along with Rose. Neither Rose or Google has commented on the matter, and it’s unclear what Milk’s fate will be going forward. AllThingsD speculates Rose’s personality and online following might be a benefit to engage more people to use Google+, which has seen lower adoption than Google anticipated. Rose’s first day with the Mountain View-based company is reportedly this coming Monday.
