Samsung to Receive Exclusive Angry Birds Space Content

Samsung is teaming up with Rovio to make sure it’s devices are where you’ll want to play the upcoming Angry Birds Space.

In the video released yesterday of a NASA astronaut explaining Angry Birds physics, it seemed a little odd that the gameplay at the end was so clearly shown on a Samsung device.  The reason behind this choice was explained today as Samsung sent out a press release announcing that its line of Galaxy devices would be receiving exclusive content for the new game.

Sponsored by the Galaxy Note, all Galaxy users will receive access to an exclusive level as well as the “Danger Zone,” the first package of DLC for the game that will feature 30 new levels.  This pack will be an in-game purchase for all other devices, but Galaxy users will get it free of charge.  One new bird, the Lazer Bird, is being introduced by Samsung to show off the viewing experience on the Galaxy Note.

Between NASA and Samsung being involved with the next Angry Birds game, it’s beginning to sound like Rovio doesn’t even need to sell games any more and could just live off of marketing deals.

Angry Birds Space comes out on March 22.
