Apple’s New iPad Reportedly Has 1GB of RAM

Sounds like the iPad has finally caught up with just about every high-end Android smartphone currently on the market. A new report surfaced on The Verge Thursday suggesting that the device has 1GB of RAM. That’s twice the amount of RAM in the iPad 2, which should result in a bit of a performance increase — despite the added boost you’ll already see from the dual-core A5X processor and quad-core graphics. We’ll have a more definite answer once the iPad finally ships on March 16th — we have a few headed our way — but we’re not surprised at all by the hardware bump.
