Angry Birds Space will launch with 60 new levels, six new characters and a slew of new superpowers. The trailer above is a fun look at the game mixed in with some footage shot in space by an astronaut. Yep, that actually happened…for a smartphone game.
The gameplay towards the end of the trailer shows off several of the unique twists Rovio’s set to add to the now standard Angry Birds experience. Spacial bodies, for instance, will have their own gravitational pull…if they’re large enough. As the clip presents it, the puzzles will include uniquely centered physical puzzles.
It’s worth noting here that these types of puzzles have been done before, though perhaps not with the same attention to pig crushing detail Rovio’s bring with Angry Birds Space. Flash games like Gravitee have used similar gravity based physics since shortly after the inception of Flash gaming.
Angry Birds Space is set to release for the iOS, Android, Mac and PC platforms on March 22nd. Do you still love this bird flinging puzzler enough to dive back in again?
