With all the fervor surrounding quad-core this and quad-core that, Apple’s A5 iPad 2 has begun to look a little long in the tooth, especially against the Asus Transformer Prime. Certainly, that doesn’t mean Apple’s tablet isn’t selling like hot cakes – in the last quarter alone, Apple managed to sell 15.5 million iPads worldwide. Still, people want specs. It’s what a lot of tech fans consider to be the separating factor between competing devices. Of course, sheer guts alone doesn’t make a successful product, as Apple has proved. But now that the new iPad is out with its beefed-up A5X chip, it’s time to pit the industry’s two top heavyweights against each other to settle the score once and for all.
