Verizon Reveals 14 Devices Scheduled to Get Android 4.0

Ice Cream SandwichI hope you’re sitting down, Verizon customers, because this news is about to make your knees weak. Verizon on Tuesday announced a full list of devices slated to received the Ice Cream Sandwich treatment, and it is sure to please quite a few Android owners. In all, 14 devices – including the HTC Thunderbolt, Droid Razr Maxx and Galaxy Tab 10.1 – will get the update before the year is up.

Here’s the full list:

HTC:

  • HTC ThunderBolt™
  • DROID Incredible 2 by HTC
  • HTC Rhyme™
  • HTC Rezound™

Motorola:

  • Motorola XOOM
  • DROID BIONIC™
  • DROID RAZR™
  • DROID RAZR™ MAXX™
  • DROID 4
  • DROID XYBOARD 8.2
  • DROID XYBOARD 10.1

Samsung:

  • Samsung Galaxy Tab™ 10.1
  • Samsung Galaxy Tab™ 7.7

LG:

  • Spectrum™ by LG

Unfortunately, that’s all Verizon shared. The carrier didn’t reveal any timeframe, so some users can conceivably be looking at December 31, 2012 for the update. Verizon said additional details, including the possibility of new phones, will be shared throughout the year via the carrier’s Twitter.
