Say what you will about the craziness of a smartphone with a 5.3-inch screen, but it appears that consumers are liking what they see.
According to a talk Forbes had with Samsung during Mobile World Congress, sales of the phone-tablet hybrid have hit 2 million thus far, and the manufacturer is hoping to sell another 10 million before the end of the year. As this comes in the form of what appears to be an off-handed comment, we’re not sure if the executive – Hankil Yoon, a product strategy executive at Samsung – was talking about just the phone version, or if he was including the new Galaxy Note 10.1 tablet in those projections. Either way, we know those 2 million sold number is nothing but the phone, and that’s a pretty impressive number for a device that left everyone scratching their heads over whether it was a phone or a tablet.
We’ve been loving on the Galaxy Note for some time now here at TechnoBuffalo, and we’re thrilled to see we are not alone in this.
