Minecraft update

Announced yesterday, the update for Minecraft 1.2 has been officially released.

The newest version of Minecraft has officially hit, and you’ll see a screen like the image above next time you log into your game client.  Do remember that if you play on multiplay servers, you will not be able to log in to them with 1.2 until they run the update as well.  You can, however, save a copy of your 1.1 jar file, the file that tells a server what version you are running, and switch back and forth if you like.  There are numerous sites out there that will provide with you directions on how to find this file for both Windows and Mac based computers.

As we noted yesterday, Minecraft 1.2 comes with a ton of new in-game enhancements such as jungle areas, tamable Ocelots, Iron Golems, Villager children and a whole lot more.

The official TechnoBuffalo Minecraft server will update as soon as possible, and with that, we will also be rolling out a brand new map for you to take advantage of all the new features.  You can locate it at in your server list.
