BioShock Infinite has a release date. Announced this morning by Irrational Games, the next entry in this much loved franchise will arrive on October 16th, 2012 in North America and on October 19th internationally.
The announcement from Irrational Games included a quick quote from Ken Levine, the Creative Director and Co-founder of the studio, about the scope of the game itself:
“After BioShock, we had a vision for a follow up that dwarfed the original in scope and ambition…BioShock Infinite has been our sole focus for the last four years, and we can’t wait for fans to get their hands on it.”
BioShock Infinite wowed me for the first time when I had a chance to sit in on an eyes-on preview of the game during E3 of last year. The demo was lengthy, but it featured a great blend of combat, aesthetics, character interaction and a taste of what the game’s narrative twists had to offer. You can actually catch the full clip at the head of this post, if you haven’t already.
When BioShock Infinite launches on October 16th of this year, it will do so for the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and PC platforms. Will you be buying into Irrational’s next?
