Is Apple Considering a 14-Inch MacBook Air?

New rumors out of Asia suggest that Apple may be looking at increasing its MacBook Air line to include a 14-inch model.

According to the hit-or-miss DigiTimes, supply chain sources are saying that Apple may be exploring the concept of launching a 14-inch version of the MacBook Air that currently only ships in 11 and 13-inch varieties.  The potential cause for this is the Asian markets prefer this size to 15-inch models, and 14-inch models account for 35 to 40% of the purchases in Asia.  As China has skyrocketed to be Apple’s second biggest market, launching a model of this size may not be quite as crazy as it sounds.  The MacBook Pro line comes in 13, 15 and 17-inch styles, so there is currently no 14-inch model anywhere in the Apple laptop lineup.

The only potential timeframe given for this release is “the near future.”
