Samsung Brightside

Verizon and Samsung have announced the launch of the Samsung Brightside for March 1 through the carrier.

Labeled as a “social- and feature-rich” device, the Brightside will sell for $99 after a $50 mail-in rebate off of a tw0-year agreement with the carrier.  Aimed at students and small business owners, the phone will feature a slide-out QWERTY keyboard, a 3.1-inch display and quick access to social networking, mail and messages.  It is listed as having a e.2-megapixel camera with timer, brightness control and shooting modes, but no word on a front-side shooter.

Obviously this is an entry level phone, but it might be good for older members of your family as well who get confused by some of the complexities of operating systems such as Android.
