When The Witcher 2: Assassins of Kings dropped last year for the PC platform, gamers were delighted. The title accrued wonderful reviews and was lavished with both critical and consumer praise for being a truly open-ended RPG with an immersive storyline.
Console gamers were, unfortunately, left out.
Now, CD Projeckt, the Polish studio behind The Witcher 2, is poised to bring their title to the Xbox 360 platform. Sorry, PlayStation 3 gamers, you remain out of the loop for now. The console version of the game was originally announced during June of 2011; at that time, it was slated to launch before 2011’s close. That launch window was delayed in August of last year. Now, The Witcher 2 is heading to the Xbox 360 on April 17th, 2012.
The trailer above is another epic step between the now and this title’s eventual console release date. Of course, if you don’t feel like waiting for the game to drop for the Xbox 360 and you have a capable gaming rig at your disposal, you could always pick up The Witcher 2 today. The Xbox 360 version will have extras when it launches, but those extras will be given to current and future PC version owners on April 17th as well.
The choice, like so many things in this game’s universe, is yours. Man, that was cheesy.
