The Makers of Shank Announce Mark of the Ninja

Klei Entertainment, the indie studio that developed both Shank and Shank 2, have officially announced their next project, Mark of the Ninja. While not much has been said about the project, beyond its eventual release, we do know that it’s a 2D, stealth, sidescroller with an art style that’s currently similar to Shank‘s.

Unfortunately, we can’t actually share any gameplay videos of Mark of the Ninja here with you right now. Those, it would appear, can only be seen if you play through the text-based choose your adventure site Klei has set up to announce this new game.

But, hey, playing it is all sorts of nerdy fun. In fact, it gave us flashbacks to our childhood and the books we read/played through when our Game Boy and Game Gear batteries had all worn to nothing.

In regards to platform, nothing has been officially clarified or announced. Shank and Shank 2 both released for the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and PC, for instance, but don’t let that serve as definite proof that Mark of the Ninja will follow the same pattern. The video teased on the sites have Microsoft Studios credited on the game itself, so that may make it an Xbox 360 exclusive.

As more comes from this upcoming game, we’ll have it. For now, check out the game’s choose your own adventure announcement in order to see the title in action for yourselves.
