Google Adds Circles to Google Voice, Lets You Block Creepers

by Brandon Russell | February 23, 2012February 23, 2012 6:30 pm PDT

Google Voice plus CirclesGoogle on Thursday announced its adding a key component of its social network to its Google Voice software. With the integration of Google+ Circles, users now have absolute control over who gets a Justin Bieber ringtone and who goes straight to voicemail. Contacts can be organized into groups to better manage your social life, too. Per Google’s example, people in your “Creepers” circle will be sent straight to voicemail, while “College Buddies” will get the rap voicemail greeting treatment. I question why one would ever keep a “Creepers” circle rather than deleting those people altogether. Customizations can be made right now from the new “Groups & Circles” tab in Google Voice’s setting menu.
