Images of AT&T’s Rugby Smart were leaked by Pocketnow on Tuesday. We first heard of the Rugby Smart when part of AT&T’s roadmap was leaked earlier this year. The device reportedly packs HSPA 3G support, a 1,650mAh battery, 512MB of RAM, a WVGA-resolution display and Android 2.3.5 (Gingerbread). Pretty yawn-worthy, if you ask us.
The image definitely suggests that the Rugby Smart will be a rugged smartphone — the type that can be kicked around or dropped accidentally without you having to worry about it breaking, but that has not yet been confirmed. We’re also a bit curious why the specs are so low-end, even at its rumored $100 price point. After all, AT&T is expected to launch the Lumia 900 with full 4G LTE support and other high-end specs for the same price.
We’ll have to wait and see when the Rugby Smart makes its debut, the original AT&T roadmap had suggested that the carrier would launch the Rugby Smart on February 18th. Perhaps we’ll hear more in the coming weeks.
