iPad 3 Retina Display Said to be Pictured in Production

by Emily Price | February 20, 2012February 20, 2012 7:15 am PDT

Yesterday brought with it reported pictures of the iPad 3’s 8-megapixel camera and A5X processor, so it seems only fitting today would bring with it pictures of the tablet’s Retina display.

The photos, which were posted on a Chinese forum, show some blurry pictures of what may be the production line for the iPad 3’s Retina display as well as a few pictures of the display itself and boxes (supposedly packed with Retina displays) headed for Apple’s final product assembly line.

The forum poster claims that the displays in question are being manufactured by Samsung:

Radiant internal, iPad3 screen code J2, and these products are the name of the logo of Samsung Electronics, and even sealed box tape has the logo of Samsung Electronics. After the product is packaged, will pass through customs shipped to South Korea’s Samsung headquarters, provided by Samsung to the Apple!

The poster also claims that the iPad 3 will share the same design as the iPad 2, a rumor that we’ve heard quite a few times already.

The iPad 3 is rumored to debut on March 7th.
