During the Super Bowl, Lexus unveiled its first ad ever for the big game, an ad for the new 2013 Lexus GS. The 2013 GS 350 with F Sport has 19-inch wheels, Adaptive Variable Suspension, thicker anti-roll bars, and larger front breaks with high-friction pads than the previous model. The car has a 16-way power driver’s sport seat, and a sporty look that’s bound to turn at least a few heads.
The car can go from 0 to 60mph in just 3 seconds, and the transmission “incorporates many features adopted from the Lexus IS F high- performance sedan — including faster shifts, and downshift throttle blips — to support four driving modes that can be operated by toggling the Lexus Drive Mode selector. In addition to the Normal mode, the driver can customize the driving experience using ECO, Sport S and Sport S+ modes.”
So what should do with all that power? Race of course! I had the opportunity to spend a little time driving the car that weekend with Lexus, and hit a special track the company set up at the Las Vegas Speedway. On the course we did timed drives. My personal best was on the course was 36 seconds, however, professional driver Scott Pruett was able to do even better – rocking the course in an astounding 33.07 seconds.
I strapped a GoPro Hero to the hood for one run and recorded me blasting through the turns on the track. Check it out below!
