Samsung Galaxy S II Epic 4G Touch owners may soon be treated with an Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich update. A leaked .RDF file on Sprint’s own website, spotted by a member of XDA-Developers, suggests that Sprint has been working on fb10 of Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich version 4.0.3. It’s unclear when the update will be pushed out to the Galaxy S II Epic 4G Touch, although we suspect it could be sooner rather than later since the original forum poster argued that Sprint has already created fb4 and fb9 and also suggested the carrier is in “active dev mode.”
Ice Cream Sandwich will deliver a number of new features to the Epic 4G Touch, including a totally revamped user interface, the ability to unlock a device using your face, UI hardware acceleration, improved performance and much more. It’s unclear exactly when Sprint will issue the update, but we hope this means Samsung is also actively working on ICS updates for its Galaxy S II devices on T-Mobile and AT&T, too.
