HTC Phones Getting PlayStation Certification This Year?

White HTC Sensation featuredRumor has it HTC handsets will be getting PlayStation certification in 2012. According to Pocket-lint, an official announcement will happen at Mobile World Congress later this month, and will bring PSOne games and the Android version of the Sony Entertainment Network to HTC handsets.

The Sony PlayStation certification program was originally announced last year at the launch of the PS Vita in Japan.  Kaz Hirai who at the time was the CEO of Sony Computer Entertainment called the program Sony’s “first cross-platform endeavor.”

HTC already has a partnership with Beats Audio for its handsets. Adding gaming into the mix will definitely help give the phones a unique advantage over some Android competitors.
