HTC Set to Unveil Quad-Core Device As Early As Mobile World Congress

HTC had the Internet all in a tizzy late last year when a leak revealed the beastly HTC Edge. Why the hubbub? The handset will reportedly come equipped with Nvidia’s insane Tegra 3 processor. Yes, monstrous quad-core goodness in a smartphone package. A new report from MoDaCo claims the device is set to be unveiled by the Taiwan-based company very soon, possibly as soon as Mobile World Congress.

Aside from a Tegra 3 processor, the Edge will reportedly pack a 4.7-inch 720p display, 1GB RAM, 8 megapixel camera (1.3 megapixel front), Wi-Fi a/b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.0 and a quad-band HSPA+ radio, possibly slating it for arrival on AT&T here in the U.S. In addition, the device will come preloaded with Android 4.0 and HTC Sense 4.0, wrapping up the next-gen hardware with the next evolution in software.

Here’s where it gets a little dicey, though: The Edge is actually known as the HTC Endeavor behind the scenes. But actually, Android Central says the”Endeavor” is a pseudonym for HTC Supreme. Given the device’s next-gen specs, Supreme seems to fit the bill rather well. Whatever it winds up being called, prepare to have your shoes and socks blown off come MWC, because HTC has a real contender on its hands, among other possible and very capable handsets.

Of course, TechnoBuffalo will be at Mobile World Congress to bring you all the latest news and highlights when the show kicks off at the end of February.
