Boston Police Issues Hilarious Video Response to Anonymous Hack

Boston Police Department became the latest victim of an Anonymous hack just over a week ago, when its community policing website BPDNews.com was destroyed, leaving visitors with only a YouTube video of the nineties hip-hop track ‘Sound of da Police’ by KRS-One to enjoy.

The site was down for nearly a week, according to The Next Web, with its visitors redirected to Boston Police’s Facebook fan page instead. But its triumphant return yesterday morning, along with a hilariously sarcastic video response that I’m sure you will enjoy.

Boston Police Department spokeswoman Elaine Driscoll said in a statement that while the hack is a serious issue, it wanted a light-hearted way to communicate this to its community:

“It is a serious situation when something like that occurs, but that said, we’re looking for a light-hearted way to communicate with the community, apologize for the convenience and inform them of other ways to connect with us on social media.”

What do you think of the clip?
