Motorola has confirmed that its Android-powered Motoluxe smartphone will be available in the U.K. later this month. The handset, which was unveiled at CES back in January, promises to deliver an attractive, lightweight design at an affordable price.

While the device certainly isn’t a high-end flagship handset, there are a few things that make the Motoluxe very desirable, especially for those who are after a budget smartphone. It’s got a 4-inch capacitive touch display, Bluetooth 3.0, and an 8-megapixel rear-facing camera — something of a rarity on a mid-range device. Furthermore, it only weighs 4.36 ounces.

Motorola Motoluxe Specs:

  • Android 2.3.7 Gingerbread with Moto Switch UI
  • 4-inch display (480 x 854)
  • 800MHz Qualcomm processor
  • 512MB RAM
  • 8-megapixel rear-facing camera with autofocus and an LED flash
  • VGA front-facing camera
  • 1GB internal storage
  • microSD card slot
  • Accelerometer, proximity sensor, compass
  • GPS
  • Bluetooth 3.0
  • 1,400 mAh battery
  • 4.63 x 2.63 x 0.39
  • 4.36 ounces

Motorola is yet to announce just how affordable the Motoluxe will be, but earlier reports have claimed that British retailers will offer the handset without a commitment for around £260 (approx. $413). We’re almost certain the device will be free from carriers on most contracts.
