Following the unveiling of its white Lumia 800 yesterday, Nokia has posted pictures to its Facebook page revealing a white Lumia 900. It was initially believed to have been an accidental leak from the Finnish company, but that was until one Microsoft Store began offering pre-orders for the device.
Theories that the Lumia 900 image was published accidentally were strengthened by links that actually pointed to a Nokia Conversations page about the Lumia 800’s design. It was believed that the Nokia employee manning the Facebook page simply uploaded the white Lumia 900 press shot, as opposed to the white Lumia 800 one.
But despite an official announcement from Noka, Microsoft Store employees have already begun offering pre-orders for both the black and white Lumia 900. Zatz Not Funny reports that customers must put down a $25 deposit to secure the device, which will be the first Windows Phone handset to support AT&T’s LTE network.
Microsoft staff claim the devices will be available during “the second half of March,” but pricing is yet to be confirmed. Previous rumors have claimed the device will sell for as little as $100 with a launch on March 18. But according to the manager of one particular Microsoft store, the Lumia 900 could be priced between $150 and $200.
We’ve contacted Nokia for confirmation that the white Lumia 900 will be available alongside its black counterpart, and we’ll be sure to keep you updated.
