Sony Xperia S Specs Revealed Ahead of Early March Release

Sony Xperia SWhile we know the Xperia S is slated to hit early March, there hasn’t been much in the way of spec details. As it turns out, the Playstation certified phone will come equipped with an impressive build of internals, including a preloaded copy of Need for Speed Shift and micro-HDMI cable.

Thanks to an early 18 page Whitepaper obtained by U.K. retailer Clove, all the juicy Xperia S details have been revealed. The device is slated to come equipped with a 1.5GHz dual-core processor, 4.3-inch 720p display with a “shatter proof sheet on scratch-resistant glass,” 1GB RAM, 12 megapixel camera with 16x digital zoom, 3D sweep panorama and 1080p HD video recording, and 1750 mAh battery. Strangely, the device is only coming with 1-1.5 GB of internal storage, but it can be expanded with a microSD.

On the software front, the device will come preloaded with Android 2.3, and the familiar Timescape feature for communication. Also included is the Infinite button, which filters each category of communication by person. Other features include GLONASS support, USB tethering and WiFi hotspot capabilities built in.

We got a brief glimpse at the Xperia S at CES earlier this month, and very much enjoyed what we saw. With a little over a month until the device hits overseas through Clove, it’s helpful to see a complete detailed list of specs. If you like your smartphone to be Playstation certified, the Xperia S sounds like a winner. For the full Xperia S Whitepaper, follow this link.
