Scribblenauts Dev Releases Trailer for Shooter Called Hybrid

5th Cell. You probably know them from their most popular franchise, Scribblenauts. They also released Run Roo Run for the iOS platform and the Drawn to Life series. If you’ve never heard of any of those titles, do a quick Google search and see what comes up.

Now, watch the trailer above.

Hybrid, the upcoming third person shooter, is completely off the map for 5th Cell. It’s easily unlike anything the studio has produced before. It’s a combat game that seems to be built around epic battles, dynamically changing battlefields and, thankfully, jet packs. We love jet packs.

The project was originally announced and previewed last year. Since then, 5th Cell delayed its release to work on some upgrades and improvements. Some of those changes have been detailed by the developers on their official forums. Here’s are the changes that they offered up:

– Revamped flight-centric combat focused movement
– New look with redesigned characters, detailed environments, polished interface
– Locked at 60FPS at 720p
– Reveal of the world map and persistent online world war
– Deep customization, available on the fly

The experimental project officially has a release window, as well. Hybrid is bound for the Xbox LIVE Arcade this summer. There are currently no plans to bring the game to any other platforms.
