Amazon Offers 3G PS Vita with Game, Memory Card and Limited Data

If the 3G/Wi-Fi variety of the PlayStation Vita has been grabbing your attention for purchase, you may want to take a look at what Amazon is offering with their launch bundle.

For $299, Amazon is selling the 3G/Wi-Fi PS Vita bundled with $55 worth of extras. Those extras include a free PlayStation Network game, an 8 GB memory card and one month of 3G access (or 250 MB of data, whichever comes first).

If you already have a pre-order with Amazon for the 3G/Wi-Fi model, you’re all set. Here it is, from the site:

All existing PlayStation Vita 3G/Wi-Fi pre-orders will be upgraded to the PlayStation Vita 3G/Wi-Fi Launch Bundle.

While the online retailer makes no mention of this being their exclusive offering, Joystiq indicated that they’ve not seen the same bundle anywhere else. I’ll add that my searching also points to that same conclusion. For now, this offer is only happening at Amazon. That may only be temporary, and we’ll update this story if that changes today.

If you wanted a PS Vita and were going with the 3G/Wi-Fi bundle, this seems like the best option. The only downer we can see so far is that it won’t be shipping out a week early. This system will release with the rest of the retail crop on February 22nd. Other pre-orders will release on February 15th. That week difference may be worth a lot to some, but I’d rather have the $55 worth of freebies in hand once the PS Vita comes in.

Will you be snagging the PS Vita on or near launch? How about models: is the 3G version in your sights, or will the idea of another monthly bill keep you focused on the Wi-Fi model instead?
