More exact information about the tech world’s worst kept secret, the Nokia Lumia 900, has been revealed, pegging down an exact release date and price. We’ve already heard rumblings about a March timeframe, but not all the juicy details were shared in an earlier leak. According to a BGR source, the Lumia 900 is set to hit AT&T shelves on March 18 at only $99.99 with a two-year contract. At that price point, Windows Phone fans and admirers would be crazy to pass it up.
TechnoBuffalo got a brief hands-on with the Lumia 900 at CES earlier this month and, if that experience is any indication of what we can expect in March, than the Finnish company’s upcoming phone is going to be a monster contender. The hardware is beautiful, and the Windows Phone experience is a nice change of pace over Android and iOS.
If you’ve been sitting back, waiting for the right moment to get your next smartphone, Nokia and AT&T just gave you a huge reason to go with the Lumia 900. The current partnership between Nokia and Microsoft hasn’t exactly beared a ton of fruit, yet. Pricing the Lumia 900 at just $99 not only shows how serious the two companies are about getting market share, but that they’re willing to undercut the competition to make an impression. Once Nokia’s phone hits shelves in March, we’ll see if the gamble pays off.
