Alan Wake, I Am Alive, Other House Party Games Priced, Dated

Microsoft announced the 2012 Xbox LIVE Arcade House Party roughly two weeks ago. It was then that they released the trailer you see above and showed off a little bit of Alan Wake’s American Nightmare, Warp, Nexuiz and I Am Alive.

What the company didn’t do, however, was announce the price points for the games or their official release dates. Now, thanks to Major Nelson, they’ve done just that. The House Party for 2012 begins on February 15th and ends on March 7th of this year. The games will range from 800 to 1200 Microsoft Points.

Here’s how they’ll come:

February 15th, 2012 – Warp – 800 Points

February 22nd, 2012 – Alan Wake’s American Nightmare – 1200 Points

February 29th, 2012 – Nexuiz – 800 Points

March 7th, 2012 – I Am Alive – 1200 Points

Maybe it’s just me, and pipe up if you disagree, but these games actually seem to be priced appropriately. I might just be used to the rising cost of games on digital marketplaces like the Xbox LIVE Arcade, but 800 Points for a title like Warp seems completely fair. Alan Wake’s American Nightmare, assuming that it’s at least a little lengthy, totally strikes me as a game well worth its $15 price tag.

Am I crazy?

Microsoft also announced that those who buy all of the House Party games before March 13th, 2012 will receive an account credit of 800 Points. Spend $50, get $10 back. It doesn’t sound nearly as awesome if you consider it in those terms; but, still, if you’re interested in at least three of the games, this makes purchasing the fourth almsot a no-brainer.

Which titles have piqued your interest?
