If you use Picnik to edit photos online, you may want to start shopping for another photo editing service. The site will be shuttering its virtual doors on April 19, 2012 in order to “focus on even awesomer things.”

In order to prepare for its closing, Picnik is now offering Picnik takeout, a feature that allows you to download photos you have stored on the service onto your desktop in a handy zip file. Photos can also be copied over to Google+, where Picnik is expected to be integrated after it’s shut down.

Picnik is offering full refunds to those who have purchased premium accounts, and is offering all of Picnik’s Premium features for free to the masses until its final date online.

Picnik was purchased by Google in March 2010, the service joins a long list of Google’s acquisitions to be shuttered.
