Weekly Gaming Poll: Are you pumped for Resident Evil 6?

by Joey Davidson | January 20, 2012January 20, 2012 11:00 pm PDT

Welcome back to the weekly TechnoBuffalo gaming poll. We’ve got ourselves an outstanding, talkative community and we’re looking to harness that and spur it along with a weekly debate topic.

So, every Friday, I’ll toss up a debatable challenge, you folks will vote and discuss. I’ll also be posting the results of the previous week’s poll with a little editorialization.

A new chapter in the Resident Evil franchise will be released this fall, as it was recently revealed by Capcom. The game will by the sixth main staple in the series, and fans around gaming blogs, forums and communities seem excited.

We’re going to gauge the herd’s excitement with this week’s poll. But, first…

Let’s start with last week’s question:

Did CES matter for gaming? Sort of?

Not much was announced at the show. Some rumors beforehand indicated that Microsoft would be telling the world something about their follow-up to the Xbox 360, but they never came to fruition. It was, by-and-large, a repeat of E3 for most companies. That includes Nintendo, who showed off the exact same stuff that they did back in June of 2011.

Sony seemed keen on showing off the PS Vita a bit. But, again, not much in the way of brand-spankin’-new material was dropped.

Razer came out swinging, however, with Project Fiona. And a few of the smaller hardware manufacturers had stuff to show off, as well.

It seems to me that CES is all about tech; gaming, in that world, is a secondary or tertiary experience. It shows up, sure, but it’s definitely not the focus. Hey, really, it shouldn’t be. Gaming companies have their own shows where they should be the center of attention. CES should be about tech in general.

Now, how about this week’s poll?

Capcom announced Resident Evil 6 and gave it a debut trailer. Check it out, then vote accordingly.
