Sony’s new PlayStation Vita will be accompanied by a stack of first- and third-party titles when it launches in North America and Europe on February 22, but outside of its launch window, we have no idea what kind of games we can expect.
Thankfully, Sony’s director of hardware and marketing, John Keller, has revealed some of the biggest titles we can expect in the months subsequent to the Vita’s release, including the likes of Call of Duty, Little Big Planet, Assassin’s Creed, Mortal Kombat, and more.
In a bid to build up excitement for the new handheld, Keller teased the titles in an interview with GameSpot that took place during CES:
What we really wanted to do, and I think we learned from past, most recent, handheld device launches, is that you don’t want to launch strongly and then go dark for three or four months and have nothing…So in subsequent months for Vita, we have launch, then we have MLB, then we got Mortal Kombat, then Resistance, then Little Big Planet, then Call of Duty, and Assassin’s Creed.
Unfortunately Keller didn’t offer release dates for any of these titles, but we’re hoping to see them sooner rather than later.
I was already super excited for the Vita’s launch, but now I know it’s getting Call of Duty I can hardly contain myself. I love this game, and the opportunity to play it whenever, wherever, with a console-quality experience will be just awesome.
Which title are you most looking forward to?
