Transformer Prime Android 4.0 Update Released, Hands-on in Pictures

Asus Transformer Prime ICS App SwipeCome and get it. Like Asus promised, the Transformer Prime Ice Cream Sandwich update is out, bringing with it a whole host of new flavors to the Tegra 3 device. Unfamiliar with Android 4.0? Visually, the OS’s foundations have introduced Roboto, which the search giant detailed back in October 2011 and referred to as “enchanting” and “modern, yet approachable.” The new OS also lets users unlock their device directly to the camera, save web pages for offline viewing, create folders, greater notification and multitasking control, near realtime voice dictation, and a number of other tweaks.

Get to downloading, and let us know how Ice Cream Sandwich is on your Transformer Prime. One word of caution, though. Our unit’s display has been all kinds of wonky since the update, with some crazy “blinds” effect. One second the device is normal, the next, not so much. Because we received our unit early, we’re suspecting that may be the problem. We’ll be sure to stay on top of it and let you know if there are any further issues.

How is the update for you?
