Verizon has officially announced a new 4G LTE mobile hotspot on Monday, called the Verizon Jetpack. Developed by ZTE, the Jetpack sounds as though it will definitely live up to its namesake. Not only will it offer Verizon‘s 4G LTE network, it’ll allow users to connect with up to 10 WiFi-enabled devices. As a bonus, the Jetpack will give globetrotters quadband EDGE and HSPA support in up to 205 countries – 125 of those with 3G speeds.
The new device will sport an OLED screen and interactive keypad that will help users manage connections, setting and usage. Verizon pegs the Jetpack’s security to sport WEP/WPA/WPA2 and VPN pass-through support, as well as Windows, Mac, and Linux compatibility. As far as size, the Jetpack weighs in at 4.7 oz, along with dimensions of 3.49×3.49x.70″, making the device very portable.
Once more information hits, including price and battery life, we’ll be sure to bring you all the latest Jetpack updates.
