Apple Christmas Eve shipping

Leaving your Christmas shopping a little late this year? If you’re buying gifts from Apple’s online store, you’ll be pleased to know the Cupertino company is now upgraded its holiday shipping offer to provide free next-day shipping on almost all of its hottest items. But you’ll have to order today if you want to ensure you receive your purchases on Christmas Eve.

The deadline for free next-day shipping is today, December 21, with delivery promised by December 24. All of Apple’s most popular products are covered, including Macs, iPadsiPods, and the Apple TV; with the only exceptions being the iPhone 4S, which is in short supply; items that are purchased with engraving; and custom-built Macs that have to be made to your specifications.

Apple introduced free shipping for the holiday season late last month, dropping its usual $50 minimum spend requirement for customers based in the United States. The company has not extended the offer to other territories, however. Here in the U.K., customers had to spend at least £80 (approx. $126) to qualify for free shipping, and yesterday, December 20, was the final day of shopping for guaranteed delivery in time for Christmas.

To get your purchases before Christmas Eve, you could take advantage of Apple’s new in-store pickup service that allows you to collect your items from your local Apple store after ordering. It’s worth remembering, however, that you’ll only get your purchases the same day if they’re in stock at your local store, and again, this is available to U.S. customers only.

Will you be last-minute shopping at the Apple online store today?
