Skype Sponsoring Free Holiday Wi-Fi for Travelers

by Emily Price | December 19, 2011

If you’re hitting the friendly skies this holiday season Skype wants to make sure you’re connected while sitting the airport. From December 21st thru December 27th Skype will be offering free Wi-Fi in airports around the country through third-party Wi-Fi hotspots.

The program is available in over 50 airports around the country, and requires you to use Skype on a PC or Mac or the Skype WiFi for iOS app in order to access the network.

Skype WiFi is available year-round in a variety of locations throughout the world. The service lets you connect to the web for $.06, and can be great for those who don’t pay for tethering on their phone and need to get online every now and then while traveling.

Have any of you used Skype WiFi before? Anyone planning on taking advantage of the free connection while traveling this week?
