PS3 Exclusive “The Last of Us” has Wonderful Concept Art

As more and more assets and media pile up for the recently revealed The Last of Us, we here at TechnoBuffalo find ourselves excited at the thought of what’s coming. Here’s our chain of coverage as it’s come…

It started with a bizzarre teaser trailer. Then, gamers found an easter egg for The Last of Us in Uncharted 3: Drake’s Deception. Next, the game got a reveal trailer at the Spike Video Game Awards that announced Naughty Dog as the developers behind the project. Following that, The Last of Us saw a pack of great looking screenshots.

Most recently, we have the positively harrowing concept art from the development phase of the project. It features rundown scenery, an overgrown world, the threat of villains and a spark of humanity. It comes to us by way of Kotaku, and they have it by way of both artist Maciej Kuciara and developing studio Naughty Dog.

We have the pieces split between the single work you see at the head of this post and a few additional images in the gallery at the base. As Kotaku pointed out, the city skyline featured predominantly in the image above is almost certainly that of San Francisco. Some fans are guessing that The Last of Us may feature a cross-country trek as the survivors do what they can to escape the horrors of the world.

Whatever it may be, we’ll be sure to keep our eyes on The Last of Us and any news it delivers. Are you excited for this PlayStation 3 exclusive?
