Fruit Ninja Kinect Gets Free Christmas DLC

If you own an Xbox 360 and a Kinect, one of the must-have games for the system and its peripheral is, undoubtedly, Fruit Ninja Kinect. The game works well in group settings as a great distraction, and it provides an absolutely obnoxious arm workout for those willing to put in time enough for a lengthy session.

Now, Fruit Ninja Kinect is good for something else … spreading holiday cheer and merriment, man. Merriment. Halfbrick, the folks behind this multiplatform classic, have elected to give fans a gift for the season.

If you hop onto Xbox LIVE‘s marketplace, you’ll be able to select and download the Fruit Ninja Kinect Christmas DLC for free. By doing that, you’ll get a Christmas theme, a candy cane blade, a snow globe shadow and “Xmas Pudding.” We’re just as confused about that last bit as you likely are, don’t worry.

It’s free, it’s seasonable and if you celebrate Christmas and own the game, there’s no reason to pass this one up. Unless you’re the Grinch; if that’s the case, we get it, and we won’t force you to do anything.

While we certainly wouldn’t say “no” to free content on any platform, we do feel a bit miffed for mobile gamers as they appear to be missing out on this holiday themed freebie entirely. Sorry folks, this free additional content seems to be exclusive to the Xbox 360‘s Kinect edition of Fruit Ninja. If that changes, though, we’ll let you know.
