User Gets Ice Cream Sandwich Running on a Kindle Fire

You knew someone was going to have to at least try to get Ice Cream Sandwich running on a Kindle Fire at some point, it was just too tasty of a target at being priced at under $200 for someone to not try it.  As you can see from the video above, someone has not only tried, but has succeeded to an extent.

The video was uploaded on to YouTube on December 6 and is the first evidence we’ve seen of anyone getting Android 4.0 running on Amazon’s 7-inch tablet.  He admits that not everything is quite up to snuff yet (Wi-Fi, audio playback and the accelerometer all need some tweaking), he appears to be off to a pretty good start with his project.  Hopefully there will be some easy to follow instructions down the road for everyone to do this, and then you can almost be certain that the already seemingly successful Kindle Fire will find even a few more fans coming over to it.

Are you ready to plunk down $200 to make yourself a 7-inch Ice Cream Sandwich tablet?
