Update: As of 4:28PM EST, Xbox LIVE is up and running. The status page reflects that some users may have problems with the Beacon service.
Original Story: Some users (myself included) may currently be experiencing problems while trying to log into Xbox LIVE from their home consoles. That is to say, they can’t. Users can still log into Xbox.com using their Gamertags and passwords, but the console service appears to be down.
Xbox is aware of the issue. Their status page reflects the outage users may be experiencing. This is what’s written as of this article’s publication:

Users may experience difficulties with the following services:
- A subset of users will experience issues viewing Beacon activity under the “My Activity” and “My Beacons” tab.
- Signing into Xbox LIVE from an Xbox console
We are aware of the problem and are working to resolve the issue. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause and thank you for your patience
The new dashboard update ran into a delay yesterday, but was available during the latter portion of the evening.
Once the service returns, we’ll be sure to update this story. Additionally, if any new information concerning the outage crops up, we’ll report that here as well.
