I’m not going to acknowledge the fact that this is yet another HTC leak — I’m just going to get on with the good stuff. For HTC smartphones fans, the HTC Ville is a device well worth looking forward to. It’s rumored to be the first to launch with the company’s next-generation HTC Sense 4.0 user interface, which will be backed up by some pretty impressive specifications if the rumors are anything to go by.
We first heard about the Ville back in early November, but until today, we had no idea what it looked like. Having inspected the leaked press image above, however, I have to say it looks pretty darn good. Like many of the company’s recent devices, the Ville looks to pack a large display encased in a svelte aluminum shell. According to reports, it’ll be HTC’s thinnest smartphone yet measuring in at just 8mm thick.
That Super AMOLED display is said to be 4.3 inches in size, with a resolution of 960 x 540. It won’t be one of HTC’s upcoming quad-core smartphones, however; instead packing a 1.5GHz dual-core Snapdragon series 4 processor. On the back, there’s an 8-megapixel camera for taking snaps and recording video at full 1080p HD.
As expected, the device will support Beats audio technology, and HSPA+ connectivity. To keep all that running throughout the day, the Ville was also feature a 1,650mAh battery. Though there will not be NFC capabilities, however, and there’s currently no word on which version of Android it’ll ship with.
HTC is yet to make the device official, with an unveiling expected to take place at Mobile World Congress in February 2012. Based on previous HTC leaks, however, we’ll hear a lot more about the Ville before then.
Despite a lack of quad-core processor, I think the HTC Ville looks like a promising smartphone. I’m a big fan of the HTC Sense UI for Android, and I’m particularly excited for what version 4.0 will bring.
Are you looking forward to the HTC Ville?
