iPhone 4S transparent rear panel

You only have to remove the rear casing off your iPhone 4 or 4S to appreciate how much time Apple spends on making the inside of your device look just as good as the outside. Every piece is meticulously designed to fit together beautifully inside the device’s elegant 9.3mm shell, and now you can show it all off with this transparent real panel from the teardown specialists over at iFixit.

The panel is available for the iPhone 4S — both GSM and CDMA models — and the GSM model iPhone 4. It’s incredibly easy to apply; all you have to do it remove the two screws at the bottom of your device, slide off the rear panel, then slap on the new one and put the screws back in — simple! If you’re still not convinced, check out iFixit’s video tutorial, in which they state “this might be the easiest repair you’ll ever do.”

While the panel may look butt-ugly to some, to the geeks amongst us this is super cool, and you can get it now as part of iFixit’s special Cyber Monday package for just $29.95.

In addition to the transparent rear panel, the package includes a Liberation Kit, which allows you to replace your device’s five-point pentalobe screws with regular Phillips ones; a Thirsty Bag, which is designed to soak up all the liquid inside your device after it has succumbed to water damage; and a screen protector to help prevent your display from picking up scratches.

The package usually sells for around $50, with the transparent panel normally priced at $29.95 on its own. So be sure to grab it before the Cyber Monday offer ends if you’re interested.

What do you think of the iFixit transparent rear panel?
