Verizon Pricing The Galaxy Nexus At $199?

It looks like the Galaxy Nexus may be only $199 with a new 2-year contract with Verizon.

Android Police spotted an ad on websites across the web over the holiday labeling the phone with a $199.99 price point. Clicking the “Learn More” button on the ad takes you to a holiday-themed webpage, which seems to indicate the phone will be available for the holiday, and perhaps the $199 is a promotional holiday price for the handset (the phone was expected to cost around $300 wit a new contract).

The ad is actually still live on Verizon’s site (for the time being) if you want to check it out. Android Police noted that the Learn More” link pointed to a page with an 11/29 date on it (possibly showing the date the phone will go on sale), however, that functionality appears to be disabled now.

The Galaxy Nexus is already on sale in Europe. Samsung has promised the handset will be available in the U.S. Before the end of the year, however, has not officially announced a release date.
