Nokia Lumia 800 in Cyan Available Now From Three U.K.

Nokia Lumia 800

Fans of Nokia’s new Lumia 800 were expecting to have to wait until the first week of December to grab the device in cyan (blue), but U.K. carrier Three has announced that the device is available to purchase in stores and online from today.

In a message posted to its Twitter account earlier today, the company announced that “Christmas has come early” for those looking to grab Nokia’s debut Windows Phone device in one of its more eye-catching colors:

“Christmas has come early! The #Nokia Lumia 800 is now available on Three in Cyan. Check it out in your local 3Store.”

At the time of writing this story, Three is the U.K.’s only carrier to have the cyan handset in stock, with Vodafone, Orange, and others continuing to offer pre-orders only. It’s unclear at this point whether that situation will change before December, but we’ve contacted these carriers for an update and we’ll be sure to let you know if it does.

There’s also no further developments on the launch of the Lumia 800 in magenta (pink). As things stand, we’re expecting the device to launch in January of next year. But with the cyan handset launching a week early, maybe we’ll see its magenta sibling before Christmas.

Though analysts have predicted the Lumia 800 won’t be as successful as initially predicted, the device is doing very well in the U.K. WinRumors reports that the device has sold out in a number of Orange stores across the U.K., while Nokia spokesman James Etheridge said the device’s first week has been the most successful Nokia has ever seen:

“Based on earliest data the sales start of the Lumia 800 is the best ever first week of Nokia smartphone sales in the U.K. in recent history.

“While it is not our policy to disclose individual product sales figures outside our quarterly financial results, we feel there has been premature sales analysis on the performance of the Lumia 800. Given our deliberate, sequenced roll out across countries and with future launches ahead, this is a critical metric for long-term success.”

Will you be heading out to Three to pick up the Lumia 800 in cyan today?
